The United Native Friendship Centre is hosting an Orange Shirt Day event!
Monday, September 30th from 11am until 2pm at The Circle of Life Centre at 616 Mowat Avenue in Fort Frances.
Join them and others across Canada in wearing an orange shirt to honour the children who survived Residential Schools and remember those who didn't.
Wear orange in recognition of the harm that the residential school system did to children's sense of self-esteem and well-being and in commitment to ensure that everyone around us matters.
A history of Orange Shirt Day and a reading of "Phyllis' Story: The Original Orange Shirt" will be held along with lunch and fellowship.
Transportation to the event will be available. Please contact Karen Chowhan or Tanya Foy-Hunter at the UNFC at 807-274-8541 to make arrangements.
