The city of International Falls is looking to collect more tax dollars in 2017.
The proposed budget calls for a 5 per cent increase to the amount collected this year.
The over $2.3 million represents 16 per cent of the city’s total revenues.
27 per cent of the $13-million budget is offset by local government aid from the state which is rising just $6-thousand next year.
City council held a mandatory public meeting on the budget and its tax levy earlier this week and will likely formally pass the budget at its December 19 meeting.
