I recently had the pleasure to be live on location at the Fort Frances Museum to check out a travelling exhibit called “Indigenous Ingenuity”.
It’s being presented by Indigenous Tourism Ontario and Science North!
Local demand to see and experience this exhibit caused organizers to extend it’s stay here in our community by 11 days until April 23rd!
It was a great wat to learn about how First Nations people created important tools and methods for things like…
Travelling the waterways fishing, harvesting wild rice and building tipis!
Surviving in the extreme cold by travelling on snowshoes and building Igloos or Ice Houses.
And even learning about import things like…Traditional Territories & Languages, Treaties and Reserves & Reservations.
One of the most popular parts of the exhibit was a simulated hunting game. I bagged a bison and three moose!
The kids on hand did a great job at it too! Check out this short video clip
I had a great time and learned a lot! Thanks so much to our local Museum for bringing an exhibition like this to our community!
