The Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario has started the process into a complaint filed by Borderland Pride against the township of Emo and three members of council.
The Tribunal is officially made the township aware that an application is before them.
Mayor Harold McQuaker and Councillors Warren Toles and Harold Boven are also named.
The Tribunal is giving them until December 15 to respond.
Borderland Pride filed the complaint in June after Emo’s township council rejected twice by a 3-2 vote a request to declare the month as Pride Month in the community and to display the Rainbow Flag.
