A $208-million COVID-19 aid package has been approved in the Minnesota legislation.
It includes funding for housing assistance, small business loans, new grant programs for distant learning, broadband access and telemedicine equiment and a temporary 15 per cent pay hike for personal care workers.
Republicans wanted measures in place to limit the Governor’s emergency orders power and his ability to draw a salary during the pandemic. Both were rejected by the Democrat-dominated house.
The bill now heads to the Senate for their approval.
