Riverside Foundation for Health Care is Trimming the Tree this Christmas.
It’s part of the campaign to collect $43-thousand for new equipment used by the hospital’s surgical team.
A tall Christmas tree now stands in the lobby of LaVerendrye Hospital.
Director Alison Cox says they’re inviting people to help decorate the tree .
“People are able to come and purchase an ornament, write a message on it, maybe in memory of a loved one, in honor of somebody, maybe they want to show some appreciation to a Riverside staff member. They can write a message on the ornament and then get up on the tree,” says Cox.
The ornaments can be purchased at the Foundation’s office until December 20.
Cox says similar campaigns are held elsewhere and felt the hospital’s lobby would make a great place for the tree.
“Since our offices moved down here and I had all year to kind of sit and look at the big huge open space and kept thinking to myself there’s never been a tree down here. A perfect opportunity to get one here and use it to help support the hospital as well.”
