The organizing committee for the all-Ontario high school curling championships is looking for support from the town of Fort Frances.
Member Rick Wiedenhoeft was at council last night speaking about next March’s event.
He say right now it’s uncertain exactly what the total bill for the event will be, but preliminary projects peg costs in excess of $10,000.
Wiedenhoeft notes the event will be an economic benefit with 40 teams, their coaches, teacher reps and parents expected to attend.
The committee’s now out seeking sponsors and has put together six different packages.
Wiedenhoeft is hoping for some kind of support for council as it has backed other high school championships in the past.
