Some motorists in northwestern Ontario are not getting the message about distracted driving.
OPP Sergeant Shelley Garr says a few motorists were nabbed during an enforcement blitz last week.
Four were charged, bringing the yearly total to 71 in northwestern Ontario.
The charge comes with a fine starting at $490 with the loss of three demerit points on one’s driver license.
Garr says driving while distracted in one of the leading causes to fatal collisions in the province.
Across the province, there have been nearly 9,000 charges laid this year.
