Emergency procedures will be put to the test in Fort Frances today
Emergency personnel will be taking part in a mock airplane crash at the Fort Frances Airport.
Spokesperson for the town’s Emergency Control Group Patrick Briere says all aspects of the emergency response will be under the microscope.
Briere says the airport is required to go through a live exercise every five years.
Legislation also requires the Emergency Control Group to test its procedures every year.
Briere is also asking the public to stay away from the airport while the exercise is underway.
The airport will be shut down, but reopen in the afternoon once the test is completed.
Briere says if personnel taking part need to leave to attend a real emergency the exercise will be abandoned.
