Anticipation is building for the start of full production at New Gold's mine north of Barwick.
Mining at the pit has been underway for several weeks.
General Manager Greg Bowkett says some final testing of the mill and processing facilities will take place before moving to preliminary production until November.
The mill was going to operate at full capacity for four day and shut down for four days to iron out any bugs before starting up again.
He says they'll be pushing through both low-grade and high grade ore though the mill.
The completion of a temporary tailing site allow for full use of the mill to proceed.
The mine currently has about 560 employees hired for mining operations.
