A new partnership between Confederation College and Riverside Health Care Facilities.
This fall, the College’s personal support worker program will be offered in a compressed format.
Rainy River District Campus Manager Sandra Turner says instead of an 8 to 10-month program, students will complete their studies in five.
Students will also be taking classes at Rainycrest Long Term Care in Fort Frances.
There they will receive a mix of theory and hands-on experience creating what officials are calling a ‘Living Classroom.’.
Students who enrol may also get an opportunity to gain part-time employment at Rainycrest outside their program requirements.
Riverside is also providing assistance with tuition with interest-free loans also being made available.,
Those interested can learn more at two open houses.
The first takes place at Rainycrest tomorrow from 1-3 pm. and against from 5-7 p.m.
Another will be held next Tuesday at the same times.
