A new temporary out-of-the-cold shelter for the area’s homelesss will open in the new year.
The site at Apostolic Way Church will be operate with volunteers three nights a week.
It will have ten beds.
It comes out of discussions involving a number of area agencies.
Peggy Loyie with Rainy River District Victims Services says it’s a good first step.
The organizing agencies are still finalizing details around logistics, training and security before opening.
The shelter’s expected to be ready for use in mid-January.
