The Northwestern Health Unit continues to watch for ticks.
Wood ticks and blacklegged ones are most common in our region.
Manager of Environmental Health, Thomas Nabb says you can grab the head of a tick with tweezers and pull it out gently if you do find one attached to your skin.
Nabb says if it has been attached for more than 24 hours, you should seek medical advice.
The Health Unit would also like to see the bug.
Nabb says you can bring the tick into any Health Unit office, or submit a photo through a new APP, called NWHU Connect.
To avoid being bit, Nabb suggests avoiding areas where there is long grass.
Use insect repellent containing DEET and wear light-coloured clothes that cover as much of your skin as possible.
