Researchers, scientists and policy makers are gathering in International Falls today for the start of the Rainy Lake of the Woods Watershed Forum.
About 170 delegates are expected to attend the two-day event.
One of the organizers Todd Sellers says it’s become an important meeting for the area’s watershed.
It started 15 years ago with out 25 people attending.
Sellers says it’s since led to a wide variety of research projects being started and a collaboration between agencies on both sides of the border on that work.
This year, delegates will get an update on some of the research that has been taking place over the past year.
