Fort Frances council is throwing its support behind the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association’s request to have intervener status at hearing into Trans Canada’s energy east project.
The proposed oil pipeline from Alberta to the east coast won’t come anywhere close to the Rainy River district, but councillor Andrew Hallikas says its still important to back NOMA’s efforts.
Trans Canada Pipeline is to make a formal application to the National Energy Board of Canada for the project later today.
